July 4th Celebrations & Summer Sizzlers
by: Mayor Joe Ayoub
The City of Safety Harbor is heating up this summer with a lineup of exciting events for the whole family. The highlight is the Independence Day celebrations on July 4th, starting with the 4th of July Parade hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 238 on Main Street at 10:00 AM. This lively parade, featuring 50 participating organizations represented by over 200 people, promises fun for all ages. And stop by the John Wilson Park Gazebo immediately after the parade for a patriotic presentation.
The good times continue with the July 4th Celebration at Waterfront Park starting at 5:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors and live entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere leading up to the fireworks display at 9:00 PM. Proceeds from the beer sales will support the Friends of the Library. You’ll want to get there early to find the perfect spot. Don’t forget to bring your chairs or blankets.
Beyond Independence Day, the Summer Sizzlers event series offers more family-friendly fun, all taking place at Safety Harbor City Park. On July 12, kids can cool off at the Foam Party, a delightfully messy event sure to bring smiles. The Summer Carnival on July 26, features classic carnival games, bounce houses, and prizes. The series concludes with the End of Summer Party on August 9, a perfect way to wrap up the season with community spirit. You can find more details, pre-register, and purchase carnival tickets for any of these events at SafetyHarborRecreation.com.
