On April 7, 2025, the City Commission approved a construction contract for replacement of the City’s water and sewer infrastructure within Elm Street, Pine Street, Spruce Street, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street North, and Cedar Street. The contractor, Left Coast Utilities, has mobilized and started work. Residents will see intermittent lane closures as well as some complete road closures within the project area.
Residents should refrain from parking within the City’s rights-of-way during this work as contractors will need full right-of-way access for installation of new utilities. Expected project duration is 18 months. Water and sewer service interruptions will be minimal and occur when the contractor completes final service line and lateral connections on the new water and sewer mains. Advance notice will be provided to any affected residents.
